Pete FranzeN, lcpcc, NCC
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor -- Conditional
National Certified Counselor
I provide therapy to individuals and couples that is affirming of gender and sexuality diversity. I work with clients to support improved emotional well-being on a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, gender identity, grief & loss, fears, and loneliness.
My approach is focused on what your experiences feel like and mean to you. I believe that therapy is best facilitated by forming a trusting relationship within a safe environment where you are able to explore and connect with your most deeply sensed emotions and use them for healing and growth. I see my role as a facilitator who can support you in making use of deeper levels of awareness and understanding within yourself.

Emotion-Focused & Humanistic Therapy for Individuals & Couples in an LGBTQAI+ Affirming Environment
I offer a limited number of spots for clients at different fee brackets in effort to provide affordable counseling while maintaining the viability of my business. Currently, I have openings for individual clients at rates between $70 – 125 for each 50-minute session and $100 – 250 for each 75-minute couples’ session. Cash, checks, credit, or debit cards are accepted.
If you are able to pay a higher rate, please do so, as these fees allow me to maintain my practice and take on others in our community at a lower rate.
Out of Network (OON) Coverage
Many insurance benefits include OON (out-of-network) coverage for mental health services. This allows you to get reimbursed for some or all of the fees you pay. I can provide a receipt for you to submit for reimbursement. Fees will generally be applied to your annual deductible. Please contact your insurance company to determine the specific benefits of your policy. Submitting information for insurance reimbursement requires a mental health diagnosis and this will become part of your medical record. Insurance companies used for reimbursement also maintain the right to view records, including session notes, at any time. For many, this is not a concern but I believe you should have the information before choosing to move forward with insurance benefits.
If you cannot afford these fees, but need to talk to someone:
The Intentional Warm Line offers telephone support during challenging times and non-crisis situations. Callers will receive support, social connection, assistance with referrals to community resources, recovery programs and an opportunity to connect with others during a time of fear, grief or sadness.
If you are transgender or gender-questioning and want to talk to someone who you feel confident will be empathic to this experience, please consider reaching out to Trans Lifeline, a peer support service run by trans people, for trans people. Or locally, please consider reaching out to Maine Transgender Network.
If you sense that we might be a good match to work together on your goals for counseling, send me a brief message and we will arrange a time to connect. Do not include sensitive information in your message as email can not be guaranteed to be a confidential mode of communication.
